DECEMBER

  • Continue learning Eagle PCB Design software
  • Finish MIT’s 6.002x Circuits and Electronics course on EDX.org
  • Apply quadcopter kinematics to control and path planning (minimum snap trajectory)
  • Set up job shadow, go to job shadow, and complete write-up
  • Research ways to obtain funding from corporate sponsors
  • Communicate with companies in the Denver area to receive funding
  • Research crowdfunding sites, choose a site, and start a campaign to raise $750-$1000
  • Apply quadcopter kinematics to control and path planning (minimum snap trajectory)

 

JANUARUY

  • Find examples of different UAV builds with in depth documentation about design
  • Research commonly used materials in these builds (carbon fiber, G-10, aluminum, etc.)
  • Learn about manufacturing methods for each material
  • Select materials with the best strength to cost ratio which we are able to machine
  • Learn how to use Solidworks Simulation to improve robustness of quadcopter
  • Learn how to use any other Solidworks tools that can be used to improve the design
  • Begin final design of quadcopter while keeping these new skills in mind

 

FEBRUARY

  • Finalizequadcopter design
  • Perform simulations and test onSolidworks to revise design
  • Construct finalquadcopter

 

MARCH

  • Finish construction and transfer electronics from test platform to finalquadcopter
  • Create video presentation of finalSolidworks design for presentation
  •  Create Solidworks drawings for assembly and all parts for both designs
  • Polish all aspects of project and start documentation
  • Create video presentation of final Solidworks design for presentation

 

APRIL

  • Clean up binder and start to build presentation
